Dr. Mohieldin has been Minister of Investment of the Arab Republic of Egypt since 2004. Dr. Mohieldin is a member of the General Secretariat, the Policies Secretariat and is the Co-Chairman of Economic Committee of the National Democratic Party. Dr. Mohieldin was nominated a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum and is a member of the Commission on Growth and Development of the World Bank.

Maged Shawky Sourial Boulos

Chairman, The Egyptian Exchange (EGX)

Mr. Maged Shawky is the chairman of the Egyptian Exchange since July 2005, after being the Deputy for the chairman for almost a year. He had also represented the Regulator (Capital Market Authority) as a board member of the Exchange for three years. He held the position of Senior Assistant to the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade for Securities Markets issues for around 12 years.

Mr. Shawky chairs the African Securities Exchanges Association. He vice-chairs the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges. Mr. Shawky also serves as member of the board for the Economic Committee, National Democratic Party, Misr for Clearing Depositary & Registration. He is also a member of National Post Organization. Mr. Shawky was recently elected as a board member to the World Federation of Exchanges.

Mr. Shawky holds a Master's Degree in Financial Economics from Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom. Authored and co-authored number of research papers on corporate governance and modeling volatility of the market, some have been published in regional and international periodicals.

Stefan Jekel

Managing Director, NYSE Euronext

Mr. Jekel is responsible for client service and new business of the EMEA region. This includes meetings with international listed companies’ officials and prospects to increase their understanding of the strategic benefits of an NYSE Euronext listing and the NYSE Euronext’s service initiatives. Stefan Jekel joined the New York Stock Exchange in March 2001.

Mr. Jekel, a German national, had been employed with the New York office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP from 1998 through 2001. As part of Assurance and Business Advisory Services, he serviced international clients by resolving their cross-border accounting and reporting issues.

Mr. Jekel is a graduate from New York University (USA) and European Business School (Germany), who participated in exchange programs with the London Business School (UK), Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Dijon (France), and the University of California at Berkeley (USA).

Lawrence Leibowitz

Chief Operating Officer, NYSE Euronext

Lawrence Leibowitz is Chief Operating Officer of NYSE Euronext. He is also a member of the NYSE Euronext Management Committee, reporting to Duncan Niederauer, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of NYSE Euronext. Mr. Leibowitz, 49, is also responsible for NYSE Euronext’s Global Cash Execution and Listings businesses.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Leibowitz served as Head of U.S. Execution and Global Technology. In this role, he oversaw U.S. cash market listings and execution, as well as integrating technology platforms across the firm.

Prior to joining NYSE Euronext in 2007, Mr. Leibowitz was most recently with UBS Americas Equities where he served as Chief Operating Officer. He joined UBS Americas Equities as a Managing Director in 2004 when the firm acquired Schwab Capital Markets. He was responsible for several areas including Market Structure, Strategic Planning, Business Analysis, Regulatory Control, and the Broker Services Functions for the Equities Division. At Schwab, he was Co-Head of Schwab Capital Markets.

Before joining Schwab in October 2001, Mr. Leibowitz co-founded Bunker Capital, a quantitative hedge fund, in 1996. He also served as CEO of REDIBook ECN and as Managing Director and Head of Program and Quantitative Trading at Credit Suisse First Boston.

In addition to chairing the Nasdaq Quality of Market Committee and serving on the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s (SIFMA) Market Structure Committee, Mr. Leibowitz has been a featured speaker at numerous industry forums related to market structure issues.

Mr. Leibowitz graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Economics.

Aladdin Saba

Chief Executive Officer , Beltone Financial

Mr. Aladdin Saba, Chief Executive Officer of Beltone Financial founded the firm in 2002. Mr. Saba was a co-founder of Hermes Financial, which in 1996 became EFG-Hermes. Prior to founding Hermes he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Kidder, Peabody & Co. Inc. in New York. Mr. Saba holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The Wharton School, and a further Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Cairo University.

Aly El Tahry

Chairman, Beltone Financial

Aly El-Tahry is the chairman and co-founder of Beltone Financial, a regional financial services group operating in the fields of investment banking and asset management, with offices in Cairo, Dubai, New-York, Riyadh and Jeddah. In 1991, he co-founded Kidder, Peabody & Co.’s Middle-East regional office in Cairo where he was co-manager and was involved primarily in corporate finance activities such as privatizations. Aly co-founded Hermes in 1993, the largest investment bank in the Middle-East and up to the time of his departure as an executive in 1999, he managed, during two different periods, its sales and trading as well as the corporate finance divisions. In 2002, Aly co-founded Beltone Financial, which has assets under management of over 16.8 billion Egyptian pounds. Currently, Aly serves as director of two international investment funds and historically he served on the board of EFG-Hermes and the Cairo Stock Exchange. The October 1997 and September 1998 issues of Global Finance magazine named Aly as one of the 600 'World’s Most Powerful People in Finance.' Aly received his MBA from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA, in 1987. He also holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Physics-Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Washington & Lee University, Lexington, Virginia, USA, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, USA, respectively.

Karim Baghdady

Managing Director, Beltone Enclave Securities

Mr. Baghdady joined Beltone Financial’s Cairo office in 2006 and has since acquired a broad knowledge of Middle Eastern markets and companies. In October 2007, he was instrumental in forming the joint venture between Beltone Financial and Enclave Capital in New York, the first dedicated Middle Eastern brokerage catering to financial institutions in the U.S.

Mr. Baghdady manages the institutional sales desk and oversees the distribution of Beltone research. Previously, Mr. Baghdady spent ten years at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) where, in 2002, he became a member of the NYSE working as a trader for the direct access firm Mogavero, Lee & Co. representing multi-billion dollar institutional clients. He is experienced in long/short, corporate repurchase, risk/arbitrage and capital commitment.

Mr. Baghdady obtained a BA in Finance from Rutgers University and is a licensed registered representative.

Soliman Alshahomy

Head of the Libyan Stock Exchange Market

Mr. Alshahomy was responsible for founding the Libyan Stock Market (LSM) in June, 2006 while serving as advisor to the Economic Secretary in the General People’s Committee for Economics and Trade.
In April 2008, online trading began according to international standards, resulting in a large volume of high speed transactions on the LSM. The LSM joined the Union of Arab Stock Exchanges, the African Stock Association (ASEA), the African and Middle East Depository Agency (AMEDA) and the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA).

The LSM is the cornerstone of Libya’s emergence on the road to becoming a free-market economy. Joint-stock companies are listed in accordance with international standards that require disclosure of financial accounts and relevant company activities. The LSM is committed to transparency to give comfort to managements, their staff and investors. The LSM provides information to investors, opening up a new financial services industry to banks, insurance companies, investment funds and stock brokers.

Andre Went

Chief Executive Officer, Qatar Exchange

Mr Andre Went is CEO of the Qatar Exchange (QE).  Before joining QE in 2009, Mr Went spent more than 20 years in a variety of roles at NYSE Euronext. From 2005 Mr Went was responsible for the management of the market data and index businesses of Euronext.  Prior to that he was director of strategy and market development.  In the 1990s, Mr Went co-led the introduction of a new trading system for the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.  

The Qatar Exchange (the successor to the Doha Securities Market) was created on June 19, 2009 following the signing of an agreement between Qatar Holding and NYSE Euronext. This strategic partnership is designed to establish QE as an international exchange and to pave the way for Qatar to take a prominent role in global capital markets.

Hassan Nouh

Mr. Nouh was appointed General Manager of Ezz Steel in February 2005. Prior to this appointment, he served as the finance manager of Ezz Steel from 2002 to 2005. Before joining the Company, he has served in various banking and finance positions for 18 years, including Assistant General Manager of GEMMA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Ain Shams University in Cairo.

Dr. Raouf Kamal Ghabbour

Chief Executive Officer, GB Auto

Born in Cairo in 1953, Dr. Ghabbour graduated from the faculty of medicine Cairo University in 1976. After practicing medicine for a couple of months, Dr. Ghabbour found his passion in a completely different line of work, the trading business field.
He then joined the Ghabbour Family trading business in 1977, initially establishing himself in the tires division. In 1982, he was promoted to fill the position of sales & marketing Director and in 1985 he was again promoted to managing director of the company.

In 1985, Dr. Ghabbour established his own company, which developed into the Ghabbour Group of companies under the umbrella of the holding company GB capital.  The company is currently involved in the complete automotive product range assembly, distribution, and services. In addition, dealing in automotive related products such as tires and spare parts.  Finally, in 2006 Ghabbour Group penetrated the passenger and cargo transport market, expecting a huge growth potential in this area.

Ghabbour Group employs over 6000 labor, operates 3 factories, and runs over 20 retail outlets and 8 service centers. The Group generates a business turnover of about 1 billion US dollars, which makes it distinctly the leader of the Egyptian Automotive.

Besides the automotive business, Dr. Ghabbour is involved in agriculture, cultivating fruits and vegetables over a surface area of 2000 acres. While developing export markets in Europe and Middle East countries, the company retails crops domestically under the Ghabbour rand through its own retail chain.

Taher Gargour

Deputy CEO,Lecico

Taher Gargour, Deputy CEO. Taher Gargour joined Lecico in January 2005. He is a citizen of Lebanon and the United States and holds an MA from SAIS-Johns Hopkins. Prior to joining Lecico, He worked for seven years in the EMEA research department of HSBC Securities, covering Egyptian equities and rising to head the EMEA research team. Taher Gargour is the son of Chairman, CEO and co-owner of Lecico Egypt, Mr. Gilbert Gargour.

Hisham Akram Sid-Ahmed

CEO, Nasr City for Housing and Development (MNHD)

Hisham Akram is the newly appointed CEO of Nasr City for Housing and Development (MNHD) responsible for developing and executing a new strategy for growth, and to transition the company into a leading institution. Akram was strongly involved in the acquisition of MNHD by Beltone’s private equity arm, Beltone Capital.

Akram was a co-founder and a director of Beltone Financial serving on the Executive Committee. He was responsible for multiple functions within the bank. Akram led the asset management team, with more than US$ 4 billion under management, one of the largest asset pools in Egypt. During this time the asset management team launched a number of innovative products characterized by superior quality and impressive performance.

Before the incorporation of Beltone Financial in 2002, Akram was a Partner and a Managing Director of EFG-Hermes, responsible for discretionary portfolios. Prior to that, he worked as an investment analyst and as a foreign exchange trader.

Akram is a Charted Financial Analyst and gained a M.Sc. in Finance from Reading University, UK in 1995 and an MBA from the American University in Cairo in 1996.

Amr Sheta

Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Co-CEO,Orascom Development Holding

Mr. Sheta serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Co-CEO. He also serves as a member of the boards of a number of subsidiary companies of the Orascom Development Group. Mr. Sheta has 19 years of experience in corporate as well as investment banking with an emphasis on private equity. He started his career at Chase National Bank Egypt in 1989 and was promoted to manager of the credit department in 1993. In 1996, he was involved in setting up the bank’s investment banking arm, Commercial International Investment Company (CIIC). From 2000 to 2005 he ran CIIC’s proprietary private equity fund with a portfolio worth approximately CHF 350 million. Mr. Sheta has been associated with Orascom Development Group in various capacities since 1989. Since 1998 he has been a member of the board of directors of OHD, and its vice-chairman and Co-CEO since 2006. Mr. Sheta holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics and a Master Degree in Management from the American University in Cairo. He also holds a diploma in Project Appraisal and Investment Management (PAIM) from Harvard Business School.

Khalid Saleh Alghurair

GM Financial planning & Budgeting Head of Investor Relations Unit, Saudi Telecom Company (STC)

Mr. Alghurair, 41 years old is supervising three major directorates, there major responsibility is developing STC three year financial plans and annual Budget. Mr. Alghurair ensures that the FP&B team effectively works with Saudi Telecoms four business units and five functional sectors for the purpose of developing the financial plans and budgets. Mr. Alghurair is in charge of reporting financial plans to VP finance and management committee & annual Budget to Board of directors. He is a director in four SPV’s based in BVI and Holland and a board member in three telecom companies based in South Africa, and Board member in several Saudi companies. Committed to compliance and transparency in the fast-growing Saudi telecommunications sector, he works closely with Investors, analyst and financial media since 2008 when he was appointed as Head of Investor Relations unit in STC in Addition to FP&B. Also he works with the Communication and Information Technologies Commission and Capital Market Authority to set industry standards – a role for which he is well qualified by membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Mr. Alghurair has an MBA degree from King Saud University (1999) and he is an Eisenhower fellow since 2005.

Mr. Angus Blair, Head of Research of Beltone Financial, is spearheading the Research product across the MENA region with sectoral research teams specialising in all the key sectors of the region’s markets. Mr Blair has more than 24 years' experience of investment banking. Prior to joining Beltone he was a consultant and was previously Head of Asset Management and Product Development at Al Rajhi Bank. Blair served as managing director of Safron Advisors, one of the first private equity firms specialising in the MENA region. Previously, Mr. Blair headed the sales, trading and research operations of a number of emerging markets at ING Barings and ABN-AMRO.

Hazem Barakat

Mr. Hazem Barakat, Chairman of Beltone Private Equity. As well as holding the position of Chairman of Beltone Private Equity, Mr. Barakat is also CEO of MIRACO-Carrier. He is an experienced investor in private equity ventures as well as an accomplished business strategist. Mr. Barakat graduated from the New York Institute of Technology in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently a Member of the Advisory Council of the School of Business, Economics, and Communication at the American University in Cairo and a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Economic Forum. Ben Franz-Marwick

Ben joined Emirates NBD as Head of Investor Relations in September 2008. Earlier in 2008, Ben joined Gulf Finance House in Bahrain as Head of Investor Relations before which he spent five years in Investor Relations with RBS where he was integral in building and developing their IR team. From 2000 to 2002 Ben was a consultant to Fidelity Investment Management in both London and Bermuda.
A Chartered Accountant from South Africa, Ben trained and worked with Deloitte in Southern Africa and Bermuda in both audit and consulting capacities. He is also a CFA Charterholder and holds a Business Finance Honours Degree from the University of Cape Town.

John Tombleson

Chief Financial Officer, Vodafone Qatar

John joined Vodafone Qatar as CFO in June 2008 from Vodafone New Zealand where he held a variety of financial positions during the previous five years including Acting CFO of the mobile business.  Most recently in Vodafone New Zealand, John was the CFO of the fixed line business ihug with the aim of becoming the number one telecommunications company in New Zealand.  Before joining the Vodafone family, John worked as a Management Consultant for over sixteen years for companies including Air New Zealand, Thames Water and London Transport.

Mohamed Kamel

Chief Executive Officer - Egyptian Resort Company

Prior to his MBA, Mr. Kamel worked with KATO Investment (, one of Egypt’s largest and most diversified industrial and services conglomerates with over twenty subsidiaries in eight divisions operating in manufacturing, aerospace, tourism, real estate, construction, logistics, banking, and trading.
During his five‐year tenure, Mr. Kamel assumed several roles in different divisions, starting with sales and marketing in the aerospace division out of the London office, followed by operations manager in the food manufacturing division as part of a new turnaround team, then project manager in the logistics division creating the first modern privately‐held bonded warehouse facility at Cairo International Airport with Lufthansa Cargo, and finally business development manager at KATO Investment’s headquarters where he managed to secure several key JV partnerships and managed the debt‐raising process from European banks for the aerospace division.
Following his MBA, Mr. Kamel worked as a consultant with Bain and Company in London, and then returned to KATO Investment, where he is now the group’s Corporate Vice President for Strategy.

Muhammad Al Agil

Muhammad Al Agil serves as the CEO of Jarir Investment and Chairman of Jarir Group, which comprises of Jarir Bookstore, Jarir Marketing, Jarir Furniture, Jarir Real Estate, Kite Arabia Ltd. and Kids Kingdom. Mr. Al Agil conceptualized and co-started Jarir Marketing and Jarir Bookstore chains, developing them into leading wholesalers and retailers in Saudi Arabia for stationery, school supplies, office machines, computer supplies, books, arts and engineering items. Jarir Marketing Company is listed in Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) with a market capitalization of more than US $ 1.2 billion, presently.

Since 1990 Mr. Al Agil has been focusing, through Jarir Investment which is a family office, on private investing both as a direct principal and with various known institutional partnerships. Jarir Investment have been investing worldwide in Hedge Funds, Private Equity and also guiding families second generation through family constitution, career planning and legal structuring.

He is a Board member of various public companies and large family business groups in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, namely Tawuniya Insurance Co., MBC TV, Al Faisaliah Group etc. Served as a member of Board of Trustees of Centennial Fund (Micro – Business Fund), Board of trustees of the Gifted Foundation in Saudi Arabia and was Chairman of the Executive Committee for Family Business Council in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Al Agil earned a Masters of Engg from University of California, Berkley in 1975 and a B.S. in Engineering from KFUPM in 1974. In addition, Mr. Al Agil completed the OPM program at Harvard University in 1987.

Kareem El Sadek

Mr.  Karim El Sadek has been, Cairo, since May, 2006. Prior to his appointment he was Deputy Director of Operations at Oriental Weavers, Cairo where he was previously Regional Export Manager, UK and France. Mr. El Sadek joined Oriental Weavers from Weber Shandwick Promoseven PR where he served as an account executive between 2002 and 2003.  Prior to his work in Egypt, Mr. El Sadek was a shareholder analyst and an investor relations researcher at Fulcrum Research in London and also served with BJM Research and Consultancy and Onboard Info Ltd. as a market researcher. His experience in the UK included customer service with Bowne International (Financial) Publishing and in the late 90s, he worked in Malmo, Sweden in administration at Ellenbogen Lakarhus and customer service with Budcyklarna AB, a business-to-business services company.  He holds an MBA and a BA (HONS) Politics & International Relations from  the University of Kent and a Diploma in International Economics from Sweden’s Borgarskolan Komvux Institute.

Farida Khamis

Farida Khamis has been Oriental Weavers’ vice president of Corporate Finance since 2006, before which she was director of investor relations and international business.

She received a BA from the American University in Cairo in 2000 with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. During the summers 1996-1999 she served as a trainee with Oriental Weavers in the USA and Egypt, working in marketing.

Khamis interned with CITIGROUP in New York in their private banking section and completed an investment appraisal course with EFG Hermes in 2001.

She is a member of the Young Presidents Organization, the Egyptian Italian Council and a founder and member of Khayrazad Organization for Social Care.

Maher Maksoud

Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, SODIC

Maher Maksoud is the CEO and Managing Director of SODIC. He took over the management of SODIC in March 2006, bringing to the company his entrepreneurial spirit, vision and significant experience in the real estate market in Egypt. His mandate was to exploit the increasingly favorable Egyptian economic climate and real estate sector to turn SODIC into a major regional real estate player.

Maksoud started his career as a Director of Development at Orascom Projects and Tourist Developments (OPTD). He spent a total of eight years at OPTD culminating in his promotion to Executive Vice President in 1996 and CEO of the hotel division in 1998.

In 2001, he started his own restaurant business, becoming the Managing Partner of Delicious Inc. S.A.E. which developed Cilantro, Egypt’s market leading chain of cafés, which he sold in 2005, realizing a 2500% return on initial investment, having opened 18 outlets with a staff of 500 employees.

Maksoud holds a Masters’ degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo.

Ayoub Adly Ayoub

Chief Executive Officer, REMCO for Touristic Villages and Construction

A graduate of Cairo University in 1974 with a BS in Civil Engineering, he founded AYOUBCO SAE, a construction and contracting company in 1976 which was awarded major Egyptian infrastructure and construction contracts worth well over U$ 600 million, such as the Ramsis Hilton hotel, Haikstep military city, Mubarak military city, High-rise buildings in Cairo and Alexandria, as well as schools around the country. In 1995, he founded Remco Tourism Villages Construction with a pilot project at Ain Al Soukhna on the Red Sea coast called Stella di Mare.

The success of the first venture into the real estate investment market which included residential and touristic areas, lead to the creation of the Remco Group of companies which consists of eight companies with 12 ongoing projects in Egypt. The projects include five operating hotels and more than 3000 residential units delivered to clients. Mr. Ayoub holds the position of Chairman and CEO of the Remco Group..

Mohamed El Dib

Chairman, National Societe Generale Bank

Mr. Mohamed El Dib, an Egyptian native, is currently the Chairman and Managing Director of the National Société Générale Bank.

Mr. El Dib began his career with NSGB in 1978, holding several positions in Corporate & Investment Banking within the bank before occupying his current position as Chairman and Managing Director.

Prior to joining NSGB, Mr. El Dib worked for the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the largest bank in Egypt.

Due to his extensive, diversified and comprehensive knowledge and experience in corporate and individual banking services, Mr. El Dib is presiding over the Board of Directors in Sogelease-Egypt (Leasing Financing Co.). Besides he is appointed as Vice Chairman of the Federation to Egyptian Banks; Vice Chairman to Misr Banque Europe GmbH; Vice Chairman to International Company for Touristic Investments;: Board Member in: Aluminum Sulphate Co. of Egypt; Board Member in the Aluminum Company of Egypt; Board Member in the Egyptian Stock Exchange; Head of Consultant Committee in Misr Clearing & Central Deposit; Member in both General Assemblies: The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports & Air Navigation and The Egyptian Holding Company of Egypt Air.

Mr. El Dib received a Bachelor of Commerce in 1972 then obtained a Higher Studies Diploma in 1976.

Dr. Hani Olama

Chairman, Arab Cotton Ginning Co. (ACGC)

Dr. Olama has been the managing director of Arab Cotton Ginning Co. (ACGC) since it’s privatization in November 1996, moving to chairman in 2005.

Dr. Olama is also chairman of Amwal - Al Arabia, and a board member of Kabo, the garments manufacturing of the group, Spinalex and the Egyptian Spinning and Weaving, the spinners and weavers of the group, and Modern Nile the cotton exporters of the group.

Ahmed Moustafa El Bakry

Chairman, Arab Cotton Ginning Co. (ACGC)

Eng. Bakry obtained his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, from the American University in Cairo and has supported his academic studies with MBA from same university.
He attended the Corporate Leaders Program with Harvard Business School.

Eng. Bakry is an entrepreneur, he founded & chaired several companies working in different engineering industries such as; Contact company, specialized in the manufacture & assembly of industrial switches for electrical appliances, Delta Foam company, the leading Egyptian company specialized in the manufacture of Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) insulation, bitumen, membrane, packaging & decoration items, all companies are leading in their fields. 

In 1998, Eng. Bakry was responsible for OG business development and all group business relations with international partners; he effectively participated in the development of OG business in the region.
From July 2006 to present, Eng. Bakry assumed his position as OG Managing Director, CEO and board member, during that time the group has witnessed a huge leap in its business both locally and regionally. He was directly involved in all group negotiations which led to a strong business alliance with Electrolux group.
In Jan 2009, Eng. Bakry was selected by OG general assembly to assume the Chairman position of the group.

Eng. Bakry is a board member in several organizations, amongst them;
   - The Italian - Egyptian Business Council.
   - Paradise Capital Holding for Financial Investments.
   - B-Tech.

Karim Karoui

Chief Financial Officer, First Gulf Bank

Karim Karoui is a chartered accountant, carrying a professional experience of seventeen years in banking adding to his prior six years of experience in companies audit and financial management.
After eight years of financial control with Citibank Tunisia, he moved to First Gulf Bank in Abu Dhabi to head the Financial Control and Business Planning Department for almost nine years and to reach the Chief Financial Officer position of the FGB Group. Being a member of all the management committees of the group, he is a very active and dynamic player in the top key decision makers’ team.
Karim is also a board member of First Gulf Libyan Bank, a subsidiary managed by FGB Group and owned at 50%. Hisham El-Khazindar

Managing Director & Co-Founder, Citadel Capital

Mr. Hisham El-Khazindar is Managing Director and Co-Founder of Citadel Capital, the leading private equity firm in the Middle East and Africa. Established in 2004, Citadel Capital now controls investments worth more than US$ 8.3 billion in industries including mining, oil and gas, cement, transportation and food. Prior to co-founding Citadel Capital in 2004, Mr. El-Khazindar was Executive Director of Investment Banking at EFG-Hermes, where he advised on key transactions including the IPOs of Orascom Construction Industries, Ezz Steel and Orascom Telecom. In 1999, he was on secondment to Goldman Sachs in London, where he advised European firms on strategic options and M&A transactions. Mr. El-Khazindar sits on the boards of leading regional companies including ASEC Holding and El Sewedy Cables. He is the Chairman of the Capital Markets and Investment Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and a board member of the Egyptian Capital Markets Association. He holds a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
